I had such an amazing time teaching my Paper Collage Workshop at Nellita's Craft in Little Tokyo (Downtown Los Angeles). Everyone was so kind and supportive. The conversations were lovely. And it was really wonderful getting to know everyone.
In this workshop, I guided attendees through my own paper collage art making process and brought a few of my own paper collage pieces to demonstrate the various steps I take to creating each piece. These steps include but are not limited to abstract gouache / watercolor painting, color experimentation, and freehand paper cutting.
For reference, here are a few paper art pieces I've created for various collections and art gallery shows, along with a peek at my creative process:
The class was open to folks of all art skill levels and each person left with their own unique paper collage art piece at the end of the workshop. It was so much fun and I'm so looking forward to teaching more workshops in the near future. Stay tuned!
